Original watercolor art from “Becoming” collection, September 2020
Grana fina 200 g/m2, 25 % cotton, 75 % lignin free cellulose Watercolor paper by Fabriano
The process of becoming is messy but hides such delicate beauty in the dusty corners turned. I find the appeal of the promise it holds irresistible, equally appreciating the ease of the flow and the intricacy of the tangled parts. These aquarelles were created in celebration of that quest, and the courage needed to step into the unknown, honoring endless possibilities that await there.
Shading off layers we`ve outgrown, and cracking at the seams of the old self is, in my experience, as painful as it is liberating. It was only after I was able to let go of the firm grip of expectations that I was able to embody the creative energy and find flow in this simple technique. I hope that these paintings translate the delight of that surrender and speak in the name of letting go. In my heart, I wish that they bring you some of the joy I found while creating them, as I am sure I´ve left some of it blended in the curves.
The Becoming collection was inspired by the search of light and beauty behind the edges of shattered limitations. It includes seven original paintings created using Windsor and Newton watercolor paint and ink on cold-pressed, acid-free, 200g/m2 thick Fabriano paper, described in detail for each piece separately.
